Race Formats
There are two events on the day and your registration enters you into them both (well, kind of three if you include racing kids bikes in the grass!)
Enduro Style Stage Race
This format is both social and strenuous. You will set off into the trails with three hours to complete a set number of timed stages. These stages will encompass a wide mix of terrain and trails, some will be more descending, some will be more ascending while others will be a mix. All of them will be fun! In between each timed stage you will transition, at your leisure, to the next stage. Transition stages are not timed and you can ride them with your friends regardless of what category they are in.
The winners will be those with the lowest accumulated time across all stages.
All stages must be completed within the three hour window.
NB: This is an open face helmet race so no need to rush out and buy a full face helmet 🙂 However, you can wear a full face helmet if you wish.
XCC Short Course Team Relay
This event is all about making friends and maxing your heart rate! Your team of three will be randomly generated from others in your category. This is your team and you ride for each other.
The course is a short, 600m loop that takes in a bit of criterium track, a bit of single track, a few obstacles and some flat-out grass sprinting.
Each rider will complete 3 laps and the first team across the finish line is the winner.
16″ Dual Slalom
This event is for laughs and not compulsory. It goes like this…
Two riders at a time, Le Mans Start (google it!), down a little hill, around four slalom poles, drop the bike and jump through a hula hoop… pretty standard really!?!
Please note: Depending on numbers, we may select riders ‘out of a hat’ to compete in an elimination style competition as there just won’t be enough time to get through everyone. But best part is we think this will be just as fun to watch as it will be to compete.
Prizes and Giveaways
We are blessed to have so much support from local business, services and brands for Divas on the Dirt 2023. This means great prizes for podiums and an absolute truck load of swag to give away on the day. So you know what they say, you gotta be in it to win it!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enter on the day? No. All entries must go through Auscycling so we can check your membership status.
I’m not an Auscycling member. Can I buy a day licence? Yes, you can buy a day licence as part of your entry.
I ordered the wrong size t-shirt. Can I change it on the day? We will have a few spare shirts on festival day that you can exchange if yours doesn’t fit.
What category should I enter? We’ve tried to make the most fun and accessible course we can. Check out the race categories and stage maps to help you make your decision.
Will you be conducting course familiarisation days? Yes. We love to introduce more women to riding and to enjoy the trails at Nerang. We know that it is not the easiest place to ride so we will have coaching and course famil days closer to the event. Keep an eye on the GCMTB socials.
Can I ride with my mates? Yes. The best thing about Enduro Style Stage Races is that you can ride up the hills at your own pace, hang with your mates, smash the stage and then catch up after each stage. There’s a three hour window where you have to complete all the stages.
Do I ride each trail as many times as I want? No. You only get one chance to ride each stage.
What if I’m new and not confident riding each stage? Just go at your own pace. We are not here to break any land speed records. There will be a timed gap between each rider on each stage. If you want a bigger gap in front or behind you, just tell the volunteer at the start of the stage.
Will there be music and drinks at each hub and the start of the stages? Yes. We are planning to have mini race villages at the two hubs in the forest where the stages will start.
